You’ll find this Georgia native to be naturally friendly and easy to talk with. His family and friends have always said “DL’s never met a stranger,” and his clients and JOYN colleagues would agree.

DL has always loved helping people solve their problems, and that led him into a career as a financial advisor where he could “pour out the best parts of me for the benefit of others.” He has worked in the financial industry for over 17 years. Prior to joining JOYN, he worked as a financial planner with Synovus Private Wealth and SunTrust Wealth Investment Management.

DL Thomas, DL Thomas

DL earned his BBA in Business from University of West Georgia and his M.S. in Consumer Economics and Financial Planning from the University of Georgia.

Family is a huge part of DL’s life. He’s the proud grandson of a WW II Tuskegee Airman, and now has his own family of three wonderful daughters and two incredible sons. Every month, this close family of up to 30 people (!) gets together for a “Soul Food Sunday” dinner and everyone pitches in a variety of mouthwatering dishes ranging from southern favorites to Low-Country Boils.

Music also plays an important role in his life. DL sings and “dabbles” in both trombone and piano. But his love of reading legal thrillers has led DL on a quest to own a copy of every Michael Connolly novel. But simply ordering the books only wouldn’t be as much fun, so his car automatically stops at every thrift store he passes so he can add to his collection buying used $1.25 copies, which he keeps on his bookshelf in sequential order.
