“I feel that I’ve chosen a career that pairs my desire to help people with what I do best,” says Whitney, a proud Georgia native who has worked in all facets of financial planning & wealth management since graduating from Georgia State University with a BBA in Finance (concentration in investments).
“Since I was a child, I’ve always been interested in the ‘ins and outs’ of personal finance and investing,” she explains. “Managing money, saving, budgeting, bargain-hunting, and planning all come naturally to me, and they’re things I enjoy. Yet for many people, these topics aren’t quite as natural or enjoyable.
“I wanted a purpose-driven career, one that would enable me to make a difference in people’s lives, and this field feels like a perfect match between my skills and goals,” she continues. “I always try to put myself in clients’ shoes, to be empathetic, understanding, and helpful in all situations. And then I try to deliver beyond my clients’ expectations.”
Despite the continual heartbreak, Whitney still loves supporting Atlanta’s sports teams while filling her time with plenty of personal hobbies: fly fishing, traveling, hiking, camping, paddleboarding, kayaking, and boating. (In other words, anything on the water!) “Any given weekend, you can find me on the ‘Hooch, in the Florida Keys, or somewhere in between,” she laughs.
She’s also very involved in her community – these days, she’s involved with the Robinson College of Business Council of Young Business Leaders, Trout Unlimited, the Chattahoochee Riverkeepers, and the GSU Alumni Association.
If you have a piano, you might want to invite Whitney to perform: she has played classically for almost 20 years.
