In my last blog, I had you imagine how your life might be different if God personally guaranteed your financial future. Unfortunately, the odds of God giving you that personal financial guarantee are pretty slim. So, how do we get to that feeling of confidence and comfort without God’s guarantee? Let me answer that question by asking you a different question.
During your life, have you experienced serious adversity? This could include, among other things, a serious illness for you or a loved one, the end of a long-term relationship, the sudden loss of a job, the inability to pay your bills, the death of a family member or close friend, or anything else that that initially felt overwhelming.
Almost all of us have experienced such trauma because loss and challenge are part of the human experience.
Did you survive? Of course you did – you are here today. But how did you survive? What did you rely on to get you through that difficult time?
If you can figure out what you rely on to get you through difficult times, you will start to move from fear to confidence. Why? Because lasting feelings of security come from the confidence that you will be able to deal with whatever adversity comes your way. As you move from fear to confidence, you will open yourself up to all sorts of possibilities and opportunities.
