The American humorist Erma Bombeck famously said, “When humor goes, there goes civilization.” Gary Whitehurst would agree.

Always quick with a witty remark and a wide grin, JOYN’s Chief Revenue Officer would be lost without humor. He sees the joy and fun in life whether he’s playing at home with his two young sons or participating in a meeting at the office.

Despite his gregarious nature, Gary takes his work as the leader of the marketing and advisory services at JOYN very seriously. “We’re helping our clients guard and grow their financial assets, make important decisions in context with their lives, and make a difference in the lives of others,” he says. “We’re very serious about delivering on a new and more complete wealth advisory experience.”

The sports-and-fun-loving Whitehurst men

“I spend a great deal of time looking for more – and more straightforward – ways to tell our story to as many people as possible,” he continues. “It’s my experience that once people understand that our definition of wealth includes much more than money — and that we believe the traditional wealth advisory model is broken — they become intrigued, then excited about what JOYN has to offer. We always have talks and workshops taking place at the firm to explore subjects that really matter to people.”

A member of the senior leadership team, Gary earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Georgia and continues to support the school and cheer on his beloved Bulldogs. His passion for college football (particularly the Dawgs) is surpassed only by love for his family. He and his wife Ashley keep very busy with their active sons Thomas and James, both of whom share the family enthusiasm for sports and laughing.
