John Ellard brings 24 years of experience in the financial services industry to the firm. Prior to joining JOYN, John was a founding partner of Veracor, providing corporate and personal insurance services as well as private family business services.
“The greatest privilege we have is to help someone lead a confident and meaningful life,” John responds when asked about his decision to join JOYN. “JOYN’s mission fits perfectly with my desire to make a difference.”
People are drawn to John because of his engaging yet professional manner, and his professional credentials inspire further confidence. John holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designation from the American College as well as FINRA® Series 6, 7, 24, 63 and 65 securities licenses.
John has been immersed in the wealth and estate planning community his entire career. But he has a special interest in helping individuals and families develop an enduring legacy based on their own values through philanthropy. His involvement in the Philanthropic Advisor Leadership Institute, the Children’s Healthcare Legacy Advisor Council, and the Atlanta Estate Planning Council has only strengthened his resolve.
“There are many people who want not only financial security for themselves and their families, but have a desire to invest in causes meaningful to them,” he explains. “I find it incredibly rewarding to guide people through the process so they can make wise choices for themselves.”
But John is definitely not an all-work-and-no-play guy. He pursues the Iron Tribe lifestyle and loves sailing off-shore and hiking the Appalachian Trail. At his church, John is a Transit Leader, building relationships with middle schools boys to help them become authentic young men.
And then there is football. On Friday nights, John and his wife Laura cheer for the Greater Atlanta Christian School Spartans, where their son Justin plays football and daughter Julia marches in the band. Then on Saturdays, it’s time to bark for UGA. Go Spartans and Go Dogs!
