Atlanta, GA – June 3, 2016: GV Financial Advisors, the Atlanta-based Behavioral Wealth Management firm that is rapidly adding new talent, is pleased to announce that Sergio De La Torre has joined the firm as a Senior Financial Advisor.

De La Torre has spent the majority of his decade-long career with Fidelity Investments, most recently as a Vice President and Senior Financial Consultant in Fidelity’s Private Client Group serving primarily high net worth clients. During his tenure at Fidelity, Sergio earned a number of prestigious accolades. He was an eight-time recipient of the Fidelity Achievement Award, a three-time recipient of Fidelity’s Excellence in Action Award, and graduated from Fidelity’s highly coveted Brand Leadership Development Program, a nationwide program limited to 20 nominees. He is also a 2015 graduate of the Practice Management Institute.

Sergio chose to move from Fidelity thanks to GV’s innovative model, Behavioral Wealth Management. “The financial industry pays far too little attention to the critical hard-wired human behaviors that affect financial planning, communication and decision-making,” he explains. “GV does far more than just pay attention; the firm has invested many years developing a scientifically-based, full-fledged process designed to help clients use their wealth to create more extraordinary lives.

“I was thrilled to discover that working with GV would allow me to fulfill my goal of making a meaningful difference for my clients and their families over the long term,” he continues. “I believe GV is the first wealth management firm to incorporate the psychology and science of Behavioral Economics & Behavioral Finance to create Behavioral Wealth Management.”

“Sergio is a great fit with our innovative clients, wealth management model and culture,” says Gary Whitehurst, GV’s Executive Vice President. “His experience and enthusiasm resonate with clients and his community, and his mastery of financial planning techniques and investment acumen inspire confidence. We are thrilled at his choice to join our talented GV team.”

De La Torre holds FINRA® Series 7, 9, 10, 63, and 66 licenses along with a number of insurance licenses through the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. A former competitive soccer player and passionate Crossfit athlete, he resides in Roswell with his wife Angelica, daughter Samantha and their two dogs.
