Sergio De La Torre, GV’s newest Senior Financial Advisor, was profiled in this month’s issue of “Cobb in Focus” magazine. The editors selected Sergio, a longtime resident of Cobb County, as one of the magazine’s “Leaders of Cobb.”
When asked what he loves about his job, Sergio had much to say:
“I love making a difference in the lives of the clients I serve,” he began. “In this industry, I’ve noticed that it’s common for a financial advisor to have more clients than time, which affects client service. At GV, the core of the Behavioral Wealth Management model is to create an intimate relationship with each client.
“Often, financial advisors pay too little attention to critical human behaviors that affect financial planning and decisions,” he emphasized. “GV does far more than just pay attention. The firm has invested years developing a scientifically-based process designed to help clients use their wealth to create extraordinary lives.”
Before joining GV, Sergio spent “ten wonderful years working with high net worth clients at Fidelity Investments.” He earned a number of high-profile awards during his time at Fidelity and graduated from Fidelity’s Brand Leadership Development Program, a nationwide program limited to 20 nominees.
Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Sergio met his wife in 10th grade. They’ve been together ever since. This fall, their daughter will start her junior year of high school.
Why Cobb County? “I couldn’t ask for a better place to raise a family,” Sergio replied. “I’ve found that nearly everyone shares a similar goal of improving the community, both through direct involvement and generosity to others.”
