Superman, Wealth & Relationships

By David Geller   |   December 16, 2013

What can we learn from Superman about wealth?  Superman teaches us that wealth is about far more than money. Superman never earned a lot of money, but he was “wealthy” beyond compare. Superman’s wealth was in his extraordinary body and mind, his unique talents, and his wisdom about using those talents to help others instead of enriching himself.

What can we learn from Superman about relationships?  Superman shows us that even when we have superhuman strength, we build our closest relationships when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable. Superman bonds with Lois Lane when he is in trouble and when he needs her help. We live in a world where being vulnerable is often confused with being weak. Superman teaches us that strength and vulnerability often go hand in hand.

Maybe we can’t stop speeding bullets like Superman, but perhaps we all can learn how to be more like a superhero in our own lives.
